BJJ Video Series: Closed Guard

Closed Guard in Jiu-Jitsu is a fundamental position where you wrap your legs around your opponent's waist while on your back, controlling their posture and movement. You use hip mobility, grip fighting, and angle creation to launch attacks and prevent your opponent from passing. It is used to set up triangle chokes, armbars, omoplatas, back takes, and sweeps while serving as your home base for bottom game attacks. Closed guard is like being the ultimate clingy partner - you're literally hugging your opponent with your legs and they can't escape no matter how much they squirm! Your opponent might have gravity on their side, but you've got them trapped in your web of limbs like a very patient spider. Many newcomers think being on bottom means you're losing, until they get submitted from guard and realize they just walked into the world's most comfortable trap!
